The Koz Kazah Foundation believes that arts play a role in the progress of societies. It is one of the methods that installs concepts such as peace and acceptance of others, despite differences. The foundation attaches great importance to art in all its forms.

The Foundation implements this by organizing several art workshops. The purpose of which is to establish the value of art and develop them in this area. The workshops help the participants discover their talents and potential as well.

These workshops include:

Music Workshop:
 This workshop is aimed for

  • Training the youth, between the ages of 14 and 16, to distinguish between different types of music.
  • They received training to appreciate fine music and learnt about our folklore through great composers and poets.
  • The workshop emphasized the importance of young people role at this stage, to choose and distinguish between different types of arts.
  • Acoustics training was included.
  • It also included training sessions for the youth to sing solo, to strengthen their self-confidence, and in a choir, to coordinate and manage the performance between each other.

This training resulted in the formation of the Koz Kazah Foundation choir team. It consists of those participants who practiced regularly.

As a result of their excellence, they were able to perform on a number of important theatres such as El Sawy Culture Wheel and Heliopolis Library Theatre.

Recycling workshop:

This workshop included training the participants on the idea of recycling. They learnt how to utilize daily lives materials and the role of recycling in promoting a healthy environment. This workshop aims to:

  • Utilize existing materials in the environment turning them into useful products.
  • Innovate and utilize wasted resources.
  • Develop the ability to create new practical items.

This workshop relied on special implementation mechanisms such as paper and cardboard recycling

Theatre Workshop:

 This workshop is aimed for training the participants on forming an acting team that can perform theatrical performances on a number of theatres in Cairo. This training included:

  • Training on motor skills on stage.
  • Emphasis on theatrical values.
  • Theatrical reading and distribution of roles.
  • Public delivery of passages.
  • Working in groups.
  • Mastering the skills of acting and self-expression.

Small Artist Workshop:

 This workshop is aimed for training the participants on drawing, creativity, and appreciation of beauty. This is achieved through two programs:

The first program (murals). The objective of this program is

  • Increase dynamic development.
  • Promote teamwork.
  • Increase academic achievement and collecting new information.

The second program (the art of painting). This program is based on colour theory and through scientific methods to achieve maximum benefit.

The Foundation takes art as a tool to promote peace

Among theatrical, musical and different artistic performances, the Koz Kazah Foundation celebrated the World Peace Day at El Sawy Culture Wheel to demonstrate the importance of art and its role in spreading peace. On 23rd of September, it celebrated World Peace Day 2018. It began with the National Anthem, and the scouts’ marsh followed by a speech by the Chairman of the Board and another speech by the CEO of the Foundation. A Sudanese team took the stage to perform the most wonderful performance encouraged by all the audiences. Pakinam, who is experienced in peace promotion, in Egypt and abroad, shared her experience with the public. She clarified the problems they have gone through and how they overcame them.

A team entitled “Nas Fadya” led by Amjad Ehab, presented a Pantomime presentation. It carried a strong message of peace setting aside all conflicts which is detrimental to the society.

The singer Peter Baha, known for his ability to mix Islamic “Du`aa” prayers with Christian hymns, performed more than one song calling for peace and unity. This was followed by prize distribution to the winners of the The Koz Kazah Peace Competitions.

The Foundation Choir led by oud player Fatima Salahuddin, presented more than one song about peace. The choir also performed a song composed by one of its girls. The conclusion of the ceremony was as delightful as its beginning. A troupe from Eritrea presented a wonderful theatrical show which highlights the folklore and heritage of its country.
