The measure of success to assess any organization is the difference this organization induces for those inside the organization and the community where this organization exists.
In order to see what has been achieved in the lives of many people in different ages, phases and categories, please have a look on Amany. Once you look at her, you would see her smile, and her face that is full of positive energy to make a whole nation happy and full of positive energy. She suffered with her only son because she didn’t realize the clues and art of raising teenagers. However, she didn’t stand still and gave up. She tried till God has rewarded her efforts with someone who helped her to reach the correct ways of handling children. She was able to say: “Kirlos and I are friends and more”. Finally, this woman has added two cats, Zemba and Katty, to her small family to have complete worm environment and to fulfill her heart’s desires by taking care of pets. Her life is full of happiness and joy because of these two small creatures. “They consider me their mother. They come and knock my door when they are hungry. When I travel, I leave them food. I call Kirlos daily to check that he feeds them” said Amany confidently and proudly.
Amany learnt from her friend, Gihan, about Koz Kozeh. Her friend invited her in Ramadan to come to the Foundation. Amany mentioned that once she entered the foundation, she decided to join as she enjoyed and made use of her time there.
Amany said that she was introverted in spite of the fact that she works as customers service in a company. She didn’t have friends. Her time was divided among work, church and home. She never dedicates time to herself. Once she joined Koz kozeh she learnt how to take care of herself. “I learnt how to love Amany”, said she.
Amany stated that being part of the foundation made her aware that she has many talents that she didn’t realize before including story telling. She developed this talent to the extent that she joined the foundation when visiting the homes of elderly in order to take care of them and tell them stories.
As for her child, she said that he was stubborn to great extent. She never refuses any request to the child because he is her only son. This made him stubborn and selfish. However, thanks to what I have learnt in the foundation by specialized lecturers in the field of raising teenagers, I am now able to handle my child to be less stubborn and less selfish. She said: “they told me that I have to tell him always that I love him and he is the most important person in my life”. He realized how she is so keen about him. He became less selfish as he wants to share everything with her. He asks her to purchase clothes for herself, thing that never happened before. Amany said: “I learnt to accept him when he commits mistakes. I tell him my point of view and he hears. When I changed myself, he changed”.
Amany didn’t only learn to handle her child but other people as well. She learnt how to get her rights and reach her goals without any insult. After the death of her husband and moving to her father’s home, her siblings came with their wives and children to live there particularly after the death of Amany’s mother. This made Amany feel discomfort with those children and the need of providing calm environment for her son who is in the last year of secondary school. Amany mentioned that she didn’t know how to handle this situation till joining Koz Kozeh foundation. She purchased presents for her siblings, nieces and nephews. She mentioned her wish to be independent and her need to raise her child in an appropriate environment. Her siblings were convinced with her words and returned back to their homes.
Moreover, Amany mentioned a situation where she realized the extent of benefits she got from joining Koz Kozeh and the lectures she attended. One day, a colleague insulted Amany and hurt her. But due to attending a lecture organized by Koz Kozeh on how to set borders to anyone who hurts you psychologically, she was able to get her right and set borders with this colleague.
Amany stated that since joining the foundation, she feels as if she is another person whom she discovers and being introduced to day after day. Her love for herself increased compared to the past. She learnt how to take care and develop herself. Amany closed her conversation with a great smile as usual that conveys peace and joy.
